A comprehensive assessment of the safety of students and staff and the security of the campus is critical to providing a safe and effective school. The National School Safety Center (NSSC) is pleased to offer its School Safety Assessment program and related services to K-12 schools throughout the United States. NSSC is an experienced leader in this field of service having conducted more than one thousand assessments. Some states like California require annual reviews of their program. Conducting an annual review is a positive and proactive way to enhance the quality of your program as well as helping insulate the school district from liability.
In addition to serving K-12 school systems in the United States, the National School Safety Center was commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice to develop Campus Safety and Crisis Management guidelines and strategies for Colleges and Universities shortly after the Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University shootings. NSSC is prepared to work with postsecondary institutions as well.
